Why are there no shows?

The 3D Theatre also doubles as a lecture theatre, so this puts limits on the time that we can put the room in theatre mode. As soon as our schedule is confirmed, the shows will appear on our website.

Do I need to bring anything?

No. We provide the 3D glasses that you will need, and we will have your name on our reservation list.

How do I change/cancel my reservation?

You can change or cancel your reservation by clicking on Edit/Delete Reservations on the left-hand panel, and entering the same e-mail address that you used to reserve your tickets.

What is the seating capacity of the theatre?

120 people, plus space for two people in wheelchairs.

Is there going to be someone there during the show?

Yes, the presenter giving the show. All of our presenters are pursuing graduate studies in astronomy and will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Where can I buy tickets to the public show?

You can reserve tickets via this website. Admission is $7 per person, and payment is received at the door, payable is cash only. Unreserved seating is first-come first-served, and may be available even on sold-out shows if not all those with reservations show up.

Where can I park?

The latest information on parking services is available via Campus Map/Parking Rates. The 3D Theatre is located in Room 1110 in the Michael DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery (MDCL, building 52 on the campus map)

Can I ask questions during the show?

A highlight of our shows is the Q and A that follows the show. Your questions will be answered by the presenter, who is a well trained astrophysics graduate student from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at McMaster.

How long are the shows?

Shows are one hour long, including time for questions.

Is the level of the show suitable for children?

The show is full of images and short movies, so children as young as 5 or 6 are able to appreciate the presentation.
